Our Vision at the Ralph Bunche School is to offer students an equitable learning environment where we can empower students to acquire, demonstrate, articulate, and value knowledge and skills that will support them as life-long learner.
Instructional Focus
Building teacher capacity using the gradual release model to support students with " Making Thinking Visible".
Expectations of Teachers: Explicit Teaching (Modeling)/Using Data to create small groups with differentiated instruction.
Expectations of Students: Explain their thinking by answering questions verbally and in written form.
Instructional Absolutes
- In all classrooms, a learning target and/or an I Can / I Will statement will be posted and visible aligned to a learning standard.
- In all classrooms, unit aligned anchor charts will be relevant and visible.
- In all classrooms, teacher facilitated, student centered discussion will support [achievement of] the learning element.
- In all classrooms, multiple entry points will be created in order to differentiate the instruction [for the success of all learners].
